Our mission is to learn from and serve the low income children and families of Los Ninos of Mexicali, Mexico and surrounding communities on the border with California. We will work side by side with our host families to plant gardens, irrigate school playgrounds and soccer fields, help expand a women's beekeeping cooperative and promote self-reliance through micro-loans and community outreach projects. In the long-term, we want to build enduring relationships and mutual understanding about issues like environmental health, immigration, community empowerment, fair trade and cross-cultural collaboration.
